Everything you need to know before your Balabac adventure — from packing to policies.
Visas, safety, connectivity, and getting to Balabac.
Yes. Balabac requires an Environmental User Fee (EUF) and a tourism permit upon arrival. These entrance fees and permits are already included in all our tour packages — you don't need to arrange them separately.
Balabac is considered safe for tourists, especially when traveling with a licensed local guide. Our team monitors travel advisories regularly and ensures all routes taken are cleared and safe. We prioritize guest safety above all else.
To reach Balabac, you'll fly into Puerto Princesa (PPS) from Manila, then take a van/bus to Rio Tuba (approximately 4–5 hours), followed by a boat ride to Balabac town. We can assist with full logistics and coordination upon request.
Absolutely — both are essential! Electricity in Balabac is very limited; most island stays have little to no charging facilities, so bring at least one fully charged power bank (10,000mAh or more) to keep your phone and camera running throughout the trip. As for mosquito repellent, it's a must-have for evenings on the island, especially during beach camping nights. Go for a DEET-based or plant-based repellent and apply generously at dusk. These two items will make your island experience so much more comfortable!
Mobile signal is very limited in Balabac — consider it a true digital detox! Some areas may have weak Globe/Smart signal, but we advise downloading offline maps and informing family/friends before you depart.
Our team is ready to help you plan every detail.
